Hiii everyone!
I'm here today to tell you the story of the amazing day I had on friday at the Rock in Rio festival in Lisbon
So to start with.. the line up was:
Orishas,
Kaiser Chiefs,
Muse,
The Offspring,
Linkin Park.
Now the story!
In the morning I had a drawing class so I went. I got there and the teacher said we didn't have to give him our drawings in the end of the class. So me and a friend left, took some pictures of what we were going to draw and left.
I got home and went to have lunch straight away. Being as sunny as it was outside me and my brother went to look for the sun block. We didn't find it. So I packed every little thing I needed and started calling some friends that were going too so that I didn't have to go by myself to Lisbon. Everyone had already gone or was going later. So I called my cousin (that was going as well) and asked him to tell me how to go there. I got into the train and there I went! So many people was going on the same train as me to Rock in Rio and then in the subway too.
I got there and phoned aRijo to know where she was. I went and met her and Raquel too. I called another friend, Tiago, to know where he was at. He said he was in the front of the line (at that time the line was already big, it was 3 pm, the doors opened at 4 pm) so I told him we would meet later, he agreed. Then I called my cousins to know where they were and they told me they would go later on. And finally I phoned my friend Marta and she was already there, near me from what I understood but I didn't see her.
4pm came and the doors opened and people started getting in. Me, Joana (aRijo) and Raquel stayed there because we had to wait for Sara, because she had Raquel's ticket.
We got in at something like 4:45pm. We went to find Salu that had gotten lost from the others. We then went to the bathroom 'cause we didn't know how long we were going to be in the middle of the crowd.
We also went to get some food and things. And then we went to sit down as close to the stage as we could before Orishas began.
I called Gonçalo and he said he was already there so we went to meet. Edgar was with him. So I went with them, saying goodbye to the girls.
Edgar found a friend and went with her. And me and Gonçalo went to find his group of friends.
We finally caught up with them and went to get some things.
Orishas began playing but we weren't very interested.
We tried to go and get some drinks but it was hard. We split. And me, Gonçalo and more 2 people of the group waited for the rest. My cousin called me to know where I was and he found me. When the group was together again we went to the crowd to see the rest of the Orishas' show (this time my cousin was with us too).
Orishas ended and my cousin found a friend and went with him. The group got split again. So Gonçalo and I started going more and more to the front.
Kaiser Chiefs began and me and Gonçalo had to get passed the mosh pit so that we could get as close to the stage as we could.
Kaiser Chiefs was AWESOME!!!! :D Ricky Wilson has so much energy on stage!! They played all me favorite songs! Everyday I Love You Less and Less, Ruby, Thank You Very Much, I Predict a Riot, Na na na na na, and then Oh My God!! :D I was stoked! I was really like Oh My God!! When they started playing it!! :D It was really fabulous!! And they kept saying Thank You with Obrigado (which is Thank You in Portuguese)
At that point, me and Gonçalo were in the 2nd and 3rd row already. And we met some really cool guys that were talking about leaving after Muse (Muse was coming up next) and one of the guys was in the 1st row so I asked him if I could take his place after he left and he said sure.
Muse started and it was crazy!! Everyone was going mad!! haha They were really good!!! I loved the songs with piano in them (and of course I liked the piano xD it was white. I love white pianos - go figure xD). The stage had a big screen and in the Muse concert they had these crazy images showing. It was really cool!
Muse ended and the guys were calling the security to ask for some help to get out of there. They left and me and a guy next to me went for the spot in the 1st row. I was lucky 'cause both of the guys next to me were really cool. So me and the other guy that took the spot were ok with being there. The next show finally started and we were able to put ourselves more comfortable. We were really enjoying every second of it. I had no idea that I knew some Offpring songs. I was stoked :D Then (as in every show) some people were leaving at the front with the help of security. So we had to open a gap so that a guy could leave. Then this idiot came between me and the guy to my left. He was so drunk he didn't feel a thing. He kept hitting me. If he wasn't drunk he was just an a-hole. Gonçalo kept telling him to be careful with his arm and he even got better as the gig went on. But then he hit me with his elbow right in my eye so I hit him in the head. He didn't even move! He didn't feel nor him hitting me nor me hitting him. Dexter came down from the stage and passed us! I grabbed his hand!! :D I was so happy haha he had cold hands which I found weird but didn't care much 'cause that's probably normal. And the guitarist (I'm sorry I don't know his name) said we were a very good looking crowd xD. And he said Obrigado some times too.
The Offspring ended and the drunk guy next to me was asking security to take him out of there. And they were telling him to wait. And I was begging for the security men to take him out of there!
Finally he got out and me and the two same guys were next to each other again. They were really nice and cool. I think they were both from Porto. And I actually found the one on my left resembled to the actor Jason Segel (just a bit thought. the laugh was kinda the same which I found adorable - cause I love Jason's laugh haha)
We were desperate to see Linkin Park and we were already so tired and smooched...
When Linkin Park finally came on, it was just insane!! Everyone was really looking forward to this one. They played a lot of songs from this album but a lot of the others too (more from Meteora than Hybrid Theory though). Chester was unstoppable jumping around the stage. Mike and Brad were smiling constantly. And Joe was kinda keeping an eye on us haha xD Phoenix entered the stage with a little Portuguese scarf on his back which was really cool :D
Everyone was singing all the songs and Chester got down from the stage and passed us. I almost touched his hand but couldn't reach him. Later on Mike got down too and also passed us, and I touched him haha. Then when they were playing In The End he went right next to us!!!!! He was grabbing every hand he could and he grabbed mine!!!! I was so amazed by all of that!! (he had cold hands too, so then I knew it was normal)
I was so numb at Numb haha I really love that song, it means so much to me for so many reasons! (one of them Susie knows haha) and another one is about the past.
After they played Numb Mike was playing something in the piano which I found really pretty and was just smiling at him (again Susie knows haha). Sometimes I would look at Joe and see him looking my way and smile instantly, I didn't want him to think I wasn't enjoying the show just because I was being smooched.
Later on Mike got down from the stage again and was touching every hand that he could. But just touch it. When he got to mine I grabbed his hand and he grabbed mine, it looked like we were giving a hand shake. I was really happy. And I looked back to Gonçalo and kinda like a teenie said: I touched him 3 times!!!
Throughout the whole show they were smiling and had their eyes glowing. At the Alive festival they were that way too. They really love us hehe
They left the stage and we were screaming for them. So they came back and played some more songs. They played my neighbor's (lol in the show) favorite songs so he was unstoppable xD
When they were getting ready to leave again they weren't doing so. Mike was looking at Chester kinda like 'so? do we go now?' but they did. But before they did so, they kept telling us thank you over again for the show. We were doing the same.
The show ended and people started leaving.
My god!!! My entire body was aching!! But it was so worth it!!!!! I got to see Linkin Park from the 1st row!!!
I went with Gonçalo to go meet the rest of the group. And my cousin called and I went to meet up with him to go home. I called Tiago and he said he was going to stay there some more (it was about 3 am) so I told him we would talk about that day later. He agreed :)
The day was so Great!! But I'm so sored!! lol
But it was one of the best shows I've been to!! Sting!!! haha
